I just came back from my granduncle’s funeral. My sister went around taking pictures of everything, even the corpse in the coffin. My uncle told my sis to take it!
It would be so cool to be able to post the picture in this blog. I can’t do the same for my grandfather because I didn’t have a camera then. But after asking a few bloggers, it seems that the Chinese are quite superstitious about displaying dead man’s photo.
Are you?

I can’t say that I’m superstitious. I would like to share a moment that i had about photographing the dead. When my son passed away (lived for only 20 hours), some Makcik offered “If you want to take a picture of him i can lend u my camera”. she kept on insisting, which started to irritate me. She only stopped when I said my husband won’t allow it. Somehow it didn’t feel right photographing my dead son. I was never told by anyone if it was against the teachings of Islam. But I couldn’t do it.
