Since I started baking muffins, I have been searching high and low for buttermilk.
FYI, buttermilk is not butter. It is the left over milk after butter is churned and it is slightly sour. I think it is used to replace yogurt in the muffin’s ingredient.
Friends in Australia and Singapore use buttermilk in their muffins and they told me that the muffins tasted much much nicer. I wanna try it!!! But all the supermarkets in Melaka do not sell it. 
Then I heard that Cold Storage came to town. So happy to know about it coz Cold Storage sells lots of imported stuff. I went to check it out more than a month ago. I saw boxes of Buttermilk. Yes!!! My dream of tasting muffins made using buttermilk will come true but I did not buy it then coz I wasn’t sure whether I would have time to bake. It was a busy month for me.
Last week, after cleaning my apartment I went to Cold Storage to buy the Buttermilk since Cold Storage is very near my apartment but much to my disappointment, not a single box of Buttermilk in sight!
I stood there; walk from the cheese chiller to the yogurt to the milk and then back again for almost 10 mins, hoping that it might appear in between them but none! No choice since my girl has been asking for mommy’s muffins, I bought a box of low fat milk. I hope they are just out of stock.
And that box of low fat milk cost 30 cents more than other supermarket in town!!! I asked the cashier why is that so. She told me that Cold Storage sells imported product. That I know lar. Learnt my lesson; never buy common product that we can find in other supermarkets in Cold Storage.

Does the muffin taste different if u use buttermilk? Hehehe..can DHL some to your place.
that is what the experts said. no need dhl lar…more expensive then the price of one box of buttermilk.

I thought buttermilk is just milk with lemon juice added?
i used to get confuse with this word ‘buttermilk’ too….haha
yes,i hardly see it in KL too or maybe i didn’t even realise d difference!!
