8th Wedding Anniversary

We just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary yesterday. Nothing special coz I am still in confinement. I broke the confinement rules again. This time we went out at night! Hubby, myself and baby. Since baby is fully breastfeeding, I have no choice but to bring him along.

In previous wedding anniversary, we would go for dinner then movie. This year we had dinner only at Seoul Garden; BBQ Steamboat where I ate only chicken, fishballs and veggies; no beef, no seafood, no ABC and no ice-cream.

Next year, I predict it will be the same setting but without baby coz by then he will be on solid and I can leave him home.

Year in year out, we hope to go for our 2nd honeymoon on our wedding anniversary but it never materialized due to time, finance and children. We really hope it will happen in our 10th Wedding Anniversary. :D

If I win the 2 million dollar St. Thomas Villas that will be more than a dream come true; my own private Caribbean honeymoon getaway. Unfortunately I don’t have $100 to spare for the entry fee. What a wrong timing! If any of you want to try your luck, head over to the website and buy the lottery ticket.

Preparing A Farm

clearing

The spot that the JCB is clearing used to be our Organic Farm 6 years ago. The project was abandoned because we do not have the manpower to manage it. The 2 coconut trees used to be where we hang our Organic Farm signboard; we even have a name for the farm. It was called Pristine Farm.

cleared

Today, the spot is clear again making way for yet another farm. What type of farm this time around? I shall surprise you with it when the plant has grown.

This time around, the project is bigger. Even our Starfruit trees are all gone now; all 30 over trees has been put to death. :(

starfruit

We are left with only one tree beside our chicken barn; enough for our household consumption.

You know what, I felt so transparent without the bushes covering the surrounding of my house.

Back Bones Fractured

Thank God that my grand-aunt came to visit my dad yesterday. She advised him to go for the x-ray and he went with my brother last night itself.

From the x-ray result, he did not fracture any bones in this accident but the doctor found old scar from previous accidents. His back bones were fractured in one of the accidents that he met before; in which he does not know about it! Yup! My dad fell from his bike many times before. The doctor also examined his heart coz he complained of chest pain but all is well.

Old people are like that; especially those who are not educated like my dad. As long as they can walk and the pain is bearable, they will refuse to go for thorough check-up and spend their hard earned money. Thank God my SIL is working as a nurse in the hospital and the doctor only charged minimal price for the medicines and facilities used.

My dad is not allowed to ride the motorbike for 3 months nor carry anything that is more than 2kg. He must rest his back well.

Now I am thinking whether we (his children) should buy him a new car to drive; either a Kancil or a Viva (less petrol consumption) and sell off his motorbike. He is going to be 64yo this year, the most he will live is another 10-15 years. Time for us to sacrifice a lil bit more for him. I hope my siblings will have the same thinking as me.

On Mother’s Day 2009 – Cake for MIL

In the afternoon, we had a simple Mother’s Day cake blowing ceremony outdoor since the weather is so hot. Thanks Sis Roselin for sponsoring the cake. :D The cake is so yummy; I had 2 slices! Bought it at Yee’s Bakery. It was recommended by the sales assistant there who is hubby’s relative (Nya Gim’s daughter). I think the cake is called Bamboo Cake. It was labeled as Healthy Cake. It is a fresh cream cake layered with cream cheese and almond with caramel. The cake is black in colour. I wonder why Bamboo Cake; forgot to ask.

Here is my MIL blowing her candle.

Mmmm, yummy.

On Mother’s Day 2009 – My Dad met with an Accident

In the morning, I was greeted with a bad news when I called my mom to come bath my baby because hubby went to church and will only be back after 1pm. My dad met with an accident. A car bang his bike and he went flying and fell on the car’s hood. He got no bruises but he felt pain on his waist and back. My brother and sister brought him to Putra Hospital but the specialist there told them that X-ray is not needed now since my dad can still walk. The specialist told them, only if he is really in pain then only goes for X-ray.

Since my mom can’t come to me; I went to her. Fixed the baby car seat and get all my children in and off we drove to my mom’s which is only 2km away. My dad was sleeping and I advised my brother and sister to still bring him for x-ray since he is above 60yo already (his bones are fragile now). Can’t wait till he is in bad condition then only seek treatment. Old man does not heal as fast as us; the young ones. Let’s see by tomorrow if my stubborn dad would go back to the hospital for an x-ray.

Spirulina, Nature’s Epidural?

The nurse came to check on baby 2 days ago. I was telling that eating Spirulina during pregnancy can prevent baby from having jaundice. I think Huisia told me about it. Then the nurse told me that there are 2 cases recently in the hospital where 2 pregnant ladies who took Spirulina during pregnancy gave birth in the ward instead of the labor room because they didn’t feel any contraction pain and the urge to push. All of the sudden, the baby just slide out from their “down-under”.

I was telling the nurse, isn’t that good? No pain at all and no energy needed to push the baby out. She said that it is very dangerous and the baby and mother might get infection because the ward is not sterilized.

I don’t think it is the Spirulina. My SIL who took Spirulina throughout her pregnant had to endure 10 hours of pain before giving birth to her only daughter. And I don’t think Baby Jemima slide out of Huisia’s “down-under” but Huisia did have mild contraction pain only.

I don’t take Spirulina at all and I am blessed with mild contraction pain too. :D

I guess it is just a coincidence eh.

My Aunt is Pregnant Too!

My youngest aunt (my mom’s youngest sister who is the same age as me) is pregnant with her 4th child too. She will give birth in September. Wow! She is even faster than me. She got married later than me but she started producing offspring very fast. If I am not mistaken, their age gap is just 1.5 years. She told my mom that she planned to have 4 children by 35 and then stop production! My mom told me that this time around she is very thin. With 2 roundy boys and a girl, and working as a nurse, I am sure she do not need any Apidexin to stay slim down. Just like me. ;)

Puppy is Alive

My dad pet puppy almost died of eating poison. We have a paddy field which is rented to a Malay man who planted corn on that field and this puppy went there and we believed he must have eaten the rat poison. In order to save money, my dad refused to send the puppy to the vet. He fed the puppy with coconut water, paracetamol, my son’s milk and a certain type of leaf. My sister even bought pet supplements for the puppy. After 2 weeks, the puppy is finally healed. I think my dad can be a vet already.

Loosing Weight During Pregnancy

Can you loose weight when pregnant? Kind of a stupid question right. Actually some people do loose some weight during the 1st trimester if they have bad morning sickness and are always vomiting whatever they eat. And if you are like me, who does not have appetite throughout my pregnancy, I do thin down when I am pregnant. I see my face shrinking and wrinkles become more obvious. I see my arms and legs have less flesh. The only thing that is big is my tummy. Don’t ask me where to find the top diet pills, I didn’t swallow any. My pregnancy hormone is my diet pills. ;)

How to Eat with Your Hand

I am going to show you a video of my 4.5yo girl eating with her hand. Just one hand; your right hand. We do not use both hands because we wash our butt butt with the left hand. Can you imagine scooping your rice/food into your mouth with that hand??? Yucks! Even though it is washed clean. We were taught from young never to use the left hand to take food unless you are left-hand. The left hand is only use to hold the spoon to take the dishes into your plate of rice. I am saying this because I just saw a video in Youtube of a Pinoy young man teaching how to eat with your hands; he uses both his hands!

To eat with your hand, you gather your rice and food with all your 5 fingers then use your thumb to push the rice into your mouth. Easy right? :D Food taste so much better eating with your hand. Don’t believe me, try it. If you are on diet, I am sure you would need the appetite suppressant pills after watching this video. ;)

And it is easier to remove bones from the chicken or fish using your hand than a set of fork and spoon or even chopstick.

Oh ya! You are doing it correctly if you don’t dirty your palm at all. The trick is to use only your 5 fingers to eat.
