While I was breastfeeding my baby to sleep, I heard there was a nurse outside my house waiting to come in to meet me. Why on earth would a nurse wanna meet me? Not that I skip any monthly check-up for my baby. Or she was actually looking for my sister who just gave birth and came to the wrong house.
Anyway, I told my girl to let her in and she asked me whether I want to participate in a breastfeeding competition. She did not give me much detail about the competition except that I may be required to breastfeed in public. This is easy peasy; I often breastfeed in the food court.
But how do I win? Who got the most letdown? Who can express the most milk? I did not ask the nurse though. I just asked Mr Google.
This is what I found at http://www.stoneoakinfo.com/node/57081
Nursing mothers at designated locations throughout Canada, the United States and other countries will compete to set the record for the most babies breastfeeding at one time. The site with the highest number of mothers nursing at one time, as well as the country, province, territory or state with the highest turnout at registered sites, will be declared the winners. To level the playing field each site will be divided into one of four groups based on the area’s birth rate.
I doubt Bukit Rambai can win because according to the nurse, not many mommy fully breastfeed their baby in my kampung.
I still have no idea when and where this breastfeeding competition will be held. I will ask the nurse when she returns my baby health check up card.
You know, I don’t really care what is the winning prize; be it 1 year supply of breast pad or heated blanket for my baby. All I want is the experience of being part of a big group of breastfeeding mommies.
I really have no time to update this blog for the time being coz firstly, I have no helper anymore for at least 2 months which I got used to it already. It is great to be able to have control in EVERYTHING that is happening in this house. Kinda enjoy to be up and “running” again. Secondly, I found a new hobby. I started sewing again. Check it out in my Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=40221&id=1285541333&l=4bc6fce01f.
That’s about all I can write today. Baby is whining for me to get him. Toodles.
My youngest sister just gave birth yesterday in MMC. Here got no Blue Advantage or else can save a lot giving birth in private hospital. Anyway, the moment I received the good news from my mom, we drove there right away. I just love newborn you know. My 2nd girl even reminded me that the baby’s name is Melody.
This is Melody. Doesn’t she look like a China girl??? Seriously, she looks like her parents are from China! Even her father agreed to that. She has her father’s look though.
Wanna know the reason why Melody cannot become my daughter in law (DIL)? Not that she is my niece but because I did this.
I breastfed my niece!!! My mom said if I breastfeed anyone’s baby, he/she cannot marry my children coz my blood is running in their body. Cool! Btw, Melody sucks like a pro and very fast too.
Ok, Ok. Not that I gatal wanna breastfeed a newborn. I was helping my poor niece and my sister. The baby was very hungry, my sister can’t get her baby to latch to hers coz “i cannot tell what’s wrong with her nipple” and she does not want to bottle feed her baby. I wish I can plug out one of my breasts and lend it to my sister.
Anyway, she will be doing her confinement at my mom’s. Hope to help her breastfeed her baby with her own nipples.
The day is gloomy again. And to make things worst; hubby’s car exhaust dropped when we were about to reach my girls’ kindy. As always, I don’t have a mobile phone with me. If got also, no credit. So, I thicken my face and borrowed my girl’s kindy teacher’s mobile phone to call hubby who is sound asleep to the rescue. He managed to tie the exhaust up and drove to an Exhaust shop which is still close. We left the car there and I will have to come back later.
It was about to rain and I wanted to re-park my car but the car don’t wanna start pulak! This time I have to call my dad to the rescue to fetch my girls from kindy and send me to the exhaust shop. It was pouring when we left home and left the car with the mechanic coz it will take a while for him to see my car coz there was a car before me. My baby was sleeping in my arm and my kids were hungry.
After lunch, called my dad again to send me to the shop to collect the car. Thank God it only cost me RM40 to get it fixed!
Then I remembered something that will make my day better. I need to bake a Mango cake for SIL. Yay! My kitchen smells of freshly bake Mango cake. I am SO tempted to take a bite. Must bake another round for myself soon. Kena tunggu buah manga kat pokok masak dulu.
Can see, can’t eat
Btw, I am in pain again now. Either it is due to me driving my car (heavy steering) or I used too much of my right arm when preparing the cake batter. Anyway, I have to get immune to feeling pain coz it is so unavoidable.
I am so not in the mood to blog serious stuff today. Firstly, it is raining and that slows down everything. We (hubby and I) normally go on slow mode when it is raining or cloudy day. We just wanna stay at home and do nothing; just being lazy. Our mind just cannot work!
I wanted to blog about Fenugreek (Halba) but lazy to go inside my room to get my camera to upload the photos.
Later today, we will be baking Nyonya Pineapple Tarts. They are for my SIL who is going to celebrate Deepavali at her brother’s house in JB this weekend.
Tomorrow, it will be another baking session. I’ll be baking Mango Cake for my SIL.
Mangos from my dad’s. He has a few Mango trees. I got the recipe from here after reading the review from here. My first try was last Saturday and everyone who tried the Mango Cake likes it. Even though I mix the batter wrongly! I go sieve the brown sugar with the flour! So use to doing this when baking muffins. I was speechless when my SIL requested me to bake for her; she wants to buy from me wor!*wink, wink*
After 2 weeks of resting, life is gonna get busy again. No more slow mode after this.
I am looking forward to my next challenge. Although I am not allowed to blog about it but what I can tell is I hope to shed a few more kg without the help of any slimming pills and I won’t have much time sitting in front of my laptop again.
Life is interesting. When you are about to relax and enjoy it, something will surely crops up and makes everything haywire. Come to think of it, change is good. Life would be boring if everything is monotonous.
So, I only have till this weekend to spend as much time as I could here. Hmmm…I don’t think I will. My girls’ kindy exam is in a week time and I need to help them do their revision.
Last week, someone named Evonne sms me asking for the location of the RM1 Nasi Lemak. I hope she found the place and enjoyed the RM1 Nasi Lemak.
We had visitors yesterday and I bought a few packets of the RM1 Nasi Lemak for them. I also brought along with me my camera so that I can take snapshot of the landmarks around the RM1 Nasi Lemak stall.
There is actually no stall there. Just a foldable table to place the RM1 Nasi Lemak and a chair for the seller to sit.
Do you notice that the basket is empty? I arrived at around 7.40am and I was informed that the nasi lemak were all sold out. Thank God I made my ordered thru phone and waited for her brother to bring the nasi lemak. They usually starts selling at 7am and by 8am, surely gone one. Here’s the hp no. to call: 017-6890946.
Opposite the stall is the Legenda Condominium.
Behind the stall is the Graceful Nursing Home.
All these landmarks are in Klebang Besar.
I hope the above would help you to find the RM1 Nasi Lemak.
The maid has decided that she will continue until her passport expires that is for another 10 months only. That means she will be with us until September next year. I did ask her to consider staying for another 2 years but she said she is tired (maybe age is picking up) and she has enough to renovate her current house.
Since we are so used to not having her around for 2 months, she is quite free now. My children are more independent and they need less “Kakak’s” help. They can go toilet by themselves, bathe themselves and eat by themselves. They even keep their toys after playing but of course with me reminding them to do it. We must always remember that children have short-term memory when it comes to this stuff. When baby is sleeping, I cook and do some tidying up. I hang my own laundry (coz it has to be done at my mom’s house coz the chicken dung smell is back.) So the maid is quite free and at times, she goes to bed by 8.30pm.
So she took this free time to leave her footprints behind. She planted a lot of fruit trees at our backyard. She told me that she wants us to remember her. To date, she has planted Salak, Cashew, Banana, Chili, Soursop, Spinach and dunno what else. She even grow for me spring onion.
She is not THE perfect maid but she is much better than the maids that I read from the newspaper and blogs. I hope after she left, we will get a better maid or at least as good as her if the family decides to continue hiring Indonesian maid for this house. If not, they will have to make do with THIS less than perfect “Malaysian maid”. Who else, ME lar.
This was what found in the maid’s bag beside the Buah Salak; Buah Gajus / Cashew Nut Fruit. However they are not edible. Well, you can eat the fruit if you don’t mind the bitter taste. This Cashew Nut Fruit, she did not buy because they grew around her house. She brought them back upon my request because I want my children to take a look at this special fruit where the seed grows outside of the fruit. This is only my 2nd time touching this Cashew Nut Fruit! Never see the actual plant before. So, the maid planted the seed behind our house. I hope they will grow and we will have our own Cashew Nut Plant.
At the very beginning, the seed is bigger than the fruit!
The Cashew Nut is inside the seed and it was not easy to remove the nut from the seed.
Streamyx sucks big time for a few days and it peaks up today. The line is like Chipsmore; “Now you see it, Now you don’t!” Only at this hour (after 8pm) the line is stable. Unfortunately, I can’t sit here to blog during this hour because baby is awake and in an hour time, it will be his sleeping time and also his latching marathon. Meaning I have to sleep with him till the next morning. If I gets up, he will know that his boobs are not beside him and he will wail for them! If daddy wants them, he have to be really quick before baby realised that they left his side!
Praying hard that the line will be stable tomorrow morning between 7am to 10am, that’s my blogging time; before baby wakes up from his deep slumber.
