Sketches of Life|Life Lived in Simplicity

Since I started sewing my first cloth pencil case with zipper, I have sewn quite a number of them; mostly for my children. Now each of them have 2 cloth pencil case; one for their colour pencils and another for their other stationary.

Last week a friend recommend that I try sewing this fabric shopping bag. I tried without the lining but failed. The bottom part did not turn out as it is supposed to be. So now the shopping bag is being used by my 2nd girl to keep her oil pastels which she brings to her art class every week.

My next sewing project is to sew a soft toy; this cute little Pink Platypus. But then, dunno what happened to me, each time I take a look at the printout, I put in back down on the table and do something else. No mood to sew anymore lar!

I have come to a stage that I MUST wean my 15mo soonest possible. At present, he only latches when he wants to sleep. On a few occasion, he is able to sleep without latching, that is when he is very, very sleepy.

Now my 15mo has started the habit to want to reach for my other boob when he is latching on the other. He will search for my nipple to massage with his tiny fingers. I will push away his hand and not let him go there again. Then he will start caressing my tummy, dig into my belly button, caress my thigh, dig my nose or my mouth. Geli lar! Even though he is my baby, I feel so uncomfortable when he does that; furthermore he is a boy. Thank God he does not take such a long time to doze off.

I really can’t imagine those mother who still breastfeed their son after 2yo! Do you face the same problem as me? I know one of my church members did! Boys will be boys eh; these things are inbuilt in them.

I have a story to tell. It is kind of a funny one coz it involved a coconut not a durian.

When I was small, my family has a durian tree that is being shared by 3 families. We have a mutual agreement whoever pick the durian first, it is theirs. It was a very fun running and chasing season when it comes to durian season especially for us, the children.

We do chase after a durian but will you chase if a coconut dropped from the tree? Definitely not us. I find it really funny when my neighbour chased after a coconut that has just dropped within our compound (well, like the durian tree, the coconut belongs to the family too).

Next time if the same happens, I will jokingly ask, “Does the coconut has legs that it can run away?”

I have not been checking put the price of gold coins and also the gold savings account rates for a few months already. For the obvious reason of course; NO MONEY to invest. Even if the price goes down to RM115/g, I don’t have the cash to buy gold. Now the gold price is at RM126.77/g, I can forget about it. But then arh, if I were to sell my gold, I would be rich! Yaya, just by a few thousand like 2k? You think I so rich meh? Got so much money to invest in gold!

This is what I have been up to lately. I have started sewing again. This time I tried to sew cloth pencil case with zipper which I learned from Youtube.

This is my first attempt. Not really satisfied with it though.

But my eldest girl like it and wanted it to be her pencil case. She brought it to school and her good friend want one too. So I sew another one; the same cloth but smaller and longer. I like the 2nd one better but I forgot to take picture of it.

Then my 2nd girl and my 4yo son also want one. And my eldest girl class monitor also want one! So there you go, I produced another 3 more cloth pencil case with zipper in a day. Two in the morning before my baby wakes up and one at night when baby is playing with his siblings.

Then yesterday I went to Kamdar and found more plain coloured flannel and I bought 4 colours. So I tried patching up 2 colours and I got the above. My eldest wants it also to put her pencils. The checkered ones, she used to keep all her colour pencil.

Anymore cloth pencil case with zipper after this one? Tengok mood.

The Rambutan season is here and we have been eating red rambutans and yellow rambutans every single day; for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I dunno why our tropical seasonal fruits are mostly heaty fruits. Due to it, my 14mo baby is down with fever. My 4yo is also down with fever. My girls and I are sniffing away now. I am making us drink lots of water every day so that we won’t have sore throat. If we have NC short term health insurance here, I’ll might purchase it and admit ourselves into the hospital to get better care so that we can heal fast, fast.

This week I am back with being fat with lots of pimples and in urgent need to be insured or else I’ll loose my rare online income. I am sure most mommies out there know what I am talking about. I am sure you are in the same situation as mine. hehehe.

So, how does it feel being fat with lots of pimple and yet have no money to buy health insurance. This sucks more than reading about apidexin scam after knowing that this product really works. No idea what I am talking about? Skip this post then.

The fastest way to get longer hair is to go for hair extensions. Urgh! I can’t imagine carrying someone else hair on my head and even sleeping with it. Dunno the hair owner still alive or not!

So, I will rather do it the natural way. Wait a little longer for a longer hair knowing that they are mine. So, the natural way to get longer hair is to sleep as much as you can. Do you know that every time we sleep, our hair grows? I discovered it when I was in Form 6. One of my classmates loves to sleep and his hair grew super fast. Now when I have 4 children, I also noticed the same pattern. Those who sleeps a lot, their hair grew extra fast.

As for me now, it is not a matter of growing longer hair. I am worrying about female pattern hair loss coz I do not have enough sleep every single day.

Lots of sleep = longer hair. Lack of sleep = hair loss!

Do you know how to differentiate between wrinkle and laughter lines? I have no idea! What I know now, when I smile I have more lines appearing on my face compared to when I smile when I was 16 years old. So I assumed those extra lines must be wrinkles! Time to read more wrinkle cream reviews and get one for myself. Let’s see after coating my face with the wrinkle cream everyday, I can smile like a 16 years old again.

I know that you can offer me cheap term life insurance but no matter how cheap they are, I do not have the extra income at my dispense and I dare not commit to another 20-30 years of paying insurance premium. The insurance agent insisted that she still want to meet up with me this weekend. I am sure gonna do my disappearing act this weekend. I should have just tell her to not to waste her time with me when she called eh. Haiya…I was just being nice.
